When designing a website there are many things which make the website good and many things that could make the website not so good.
For the untrained eye the first thing to make the website good is how it looks. People automatically think the look of the site is the most important aspect, but like when making a cake the decoration is just the finishing touch to make the whole cake. A website is very similar and a lot of ingredients need adding to the site before the final look is added.
What about the content to the website? The content of a good website is a vital part, not only for the human audience, but for the search engine bots too. From a human point of view a website full of information about the chosen subject is excellent, for the bots hidden keywords and phrases about the chosen subject is vital if the website is ever going to be found within a search engine.
Do images play an important part? For the audience of the website the images play an important role, there is nothing more boring than a few thousand words with no images to break up the text, most viewers will often switch off and navigate away from the page before any text has been read. Just one important piece of information when adding an image to a website, Search engine bots can’t see images, so always add a description or title.
So what about hidden codes? The vital hidden codes are the key to a good website. All keywords, descriptions and meta tags have to be fully researched to ensure the keywords tie in with the content and what the webpage is all about. This is the only way you are going to reach your target audience if you are depending on the search engines to deliver traffic to your site.
Other areas that should never be over looked are links, visitors, pay per click advertising and regular updates.......... All add to a good website
